E Komo Mai (welcome) to Kohala Loke Lani, a beautiful oasis in a hectic world.
Welcome to Kohala Loke Lani, where your perfect vacation starts!
A large, renovated studio ohana on the tranquil Kohala Coast with exquisite Ocean and Mountain views. Kohala Loke Lani means "Cherished Land of the Heavenly Rose" and it aptly describes this beautiful vacation rental.
We were very lucky to find Kohala Loke Lani as an abandoned/foreclosed property and have been able to make it our own. It has been a labor of love that we are happy to share with you as a vacation rental home.
Come visit us and see what we've been up to here on the farm!
Want to come visit? We'd be thrilled to see you. This vacation rental home/studio has a large private screened lanai with a BBQ and outside dining. There are big expansive ocean and mountain views of Mauna Loa and Hualalai. Mauna Kea is also visible from the property. This retreat is perfect for star gazing.
After returning from a day of exploring the island you can enjoy a dip in the salt water pool or just revel in the view of the ocean over the water. The sunsets are (seasonally) exquisite from the pool deck! The pool is shared with the owner's unit, so it will never be crowded. The pool hours are from 8 am to 7 pm - later upon request.
The unit comfortably sleeps two people in the queen size bed. There is a full bathroom with shower. This vacation rental ohana has a large private screened lanai and another, separate, lanai that is perfect for nightly stargazing.
While the space is most comfortable, and priced, for two people, there is a beautiful pull-out sofa bed if you'd like to have your child travel with you. We also have a Pack n Play for very young children. Additional guests will be assessed a nightly fee of $20 per person.
There are plenty of things to do around here, including going to the beautiful nearby beaches, swimming in the clear ocean, snorkeling/diving, hiking, zip-lining, bird watching, seeing the volcanic eruption, exploring the island, or simply lounging by the pool reading a book!
John and I are committed to making a difference for the planet and the ocean. We converted to laundry sheets in lieu of large plastic laundry detergent bottles. We are converting to biodegradable trash bags and eco-friendly coconut husk sponges. We have converted to bamboo toilet paper. As an extreme lover of the ocean, I insist that we can all make a difference to the Earth in every simple way that we can!
Kohala Loke Lani has a three night minimum stay requirement. There are discounts for stays of longer than a week.
Hawai'i charges state and county TAT tax in addition to state GE tax
More than two guests staying in the unit. Fee is per EACH additional guest.
Invoices paid by Credit Card will be charged an additional 3%
I'm thrilled to share this AMAZING video I took while out on the boat this past winter.
Humpback Whales come to the warm Hawai'i waters from cold Alaska for the winter months (generally late December thru early April) in order to give birth and teach the babies how to survive the long swim back north.
The beautiful whales that come here to give birth were, themselves, born in Hawai'i.
Come see the humpback whales for yourself by booking a trip to our vacation rental!
A tiki at a local beach
Come visit us! Friends and Family are always welcome!
